The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will celebrate "national Women's Day" in all its Mosques across Australia on Friday 8th March 2024. Special prayers will be made at 1pm during the most important prayer of the week called "jumah" (the day of gathering). The topic to the sermon will be "High Status of Women in Islam"

His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the supreme head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community said:

"Although Islam says there is a difference in the physical make-up of men and women and also in their responsibilities, in terms of intellect, just as man has been given intelligence, woman too has been given intelligence. Just as men have been commanded to acquire education, women have also been commanded to educate themselves. As such, Allah the Almighty has granted equal capabilities and means for both men and women to progress and advance. He has granted them both intellect, so that they utilise their wisdom and activate their mental faculties and strive to excel one another."

Abida Chaudhry, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women's Association Australia states:

"International Women's Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the contributions of women throughout history and to advocate for a more inclusive and equitable world for all genders. Islam teaches us the rights and roles of women in society including the principles of respect, dignity, and equality. Islam highlights gender equality and compassion, fostering an environment where women are honoured, respected, and valued. Islam encourages women to pursue knowledge and independence."

Women's will also be doing following on this day and weekend:

1 – Special Webinar - Empowering Women Entrepreneurs.

2 - Celebrate achievements of early women in Islam and role of Muslim women in business.

3 - Celebrate achievements of women members – sharing success stories of starting business, tips and educating members.
